I have a theory that the best gifts are rarely bought when you actually need a gift.
They’re usually the things you come across randomly and immediately think:
*Oh, she would love this.*
And a sale is probably the best time to listen to that thought.
Especially when there’s a bit of everything in it.
A Kara for the friend who loves her little accessories. A scarf for Ammi. An odhni you can already picture your sister wearing. A kurta for someone whose wardrobe you know almost as well as your own. A co-ord for the friend who is very particular about her clothes.
Even winterwear for someone you won’t be gifting until December.
Buy it. Hide it somewhere. Forget about it for a few months.
Then casually produce the perfect gift when the time comes.
Very organised of you.

Gifts Under Rs 3500
Let’s start with the easiest people to shop for.
Actually, scratch that.
*Let’s start with the people whose sizes you don’t know.*
Scarves. Stoles. Odhnis. Karas.
No size charts. No detective work. No casually trying to extract someone’s measurements without revealing that you’re buying them something.
Just choose the one that feels most like them.
And if you somehow end up choosing one that feels very much like you…
occupational hazard.
Gifts Under Rs 5000
Now for something slightly ridiculous:
*buying winter clothes in August.*
But hear us out.
There are hoodies, sweatshirts and joggers in the sale right now, and winter has a habit of showing up every year.
So technically, this isn't strange.
It’s planning.
Buy a matching set for someone now and put it away until the weather gets cold enough.
Then accept full credit for being incredibly thoughtful in December.
Nobody needs to know when you bought it.
Gifts Between Rs 5000 to Rs 8,000
This is where you need to know the person a little better.
Because now we’re talking kurtas, kaftaans and co-ords.
You have to know their colours.
Their prints.
Whether they’ll say “I LOVE IT” and actually wear it, or say “I LOVE IT” and you never see it again.
You know your people.
Choose accordingly.
And Then There Are Those Gifts
The ones you already know they want.
Maybe they mentioned Taj Mahal once.
Or twice.
Or sent you the Khwahish Co-ord with absolutely no context.
Perhaps Alira has mysteriously appeared in your WhatsApp chat several times.
Take the hint.
